Dynamic, intuitive and saucy, Seattle Singer/Songwriter Brittany Allyson is an award-winning multidisciplinary performer with a voice to silence the chaos and pull you into the present moment. Sharing messages and tools from her personal and ever-evolving healing journey, her "tantric soul" sound ignites the night with beautiful awareness, love and togetherness while relishing in the magic that is music. Inspired by the playful, golden tones of Barbra Streisand and Ella Fitzgerald and the nuanced storytelling of Joni Mitchell, Sade, Prince, Shania Twain, Maxwell, Norah Jones, Labi Siffre and countless others, Brittany bares her soul with each note sung and intentional lyric written.
Appearing with an ensemble of Seattle's improvisational powerhouses, her genre-expansive compositions feature groovy bass lines, danceable rhythms, soaring strings, atmospheric synth, intricate keys and tasteful horn lines. When not performing her original material, you can spot her singing with musical acts: R E P O S A D O, Ty Keenen, Ollella, The Jaws Of Brooklyn, Secret Sound Adventure, The Ancient Robotz, MoJam Allstars and at various jazz jams throughout the PNW.
In 2017, Brittany began fusing her original music with her theatrical background in creating a "pop-up" dance-theatre concert choreographed by Sophia Franzella for her debut EP, entitled: HERe* [hidden in the mask]. After locally touring the production, HERe* was invited to perform at Seattle's iconic Bumbershoot Music Festival.
As an Actress, she has starred in Equity Productions, National Commercials (AMAZON ECHO, KROGER, WA LOTTERY), and several New Broadway Musical Workshops with Texas Musical Theatre Workshop (Founded by THE PROM Broadway Producer Natasha Davison). Holding a BFA in Acting from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas, Brittany is a professionally trained vocalist originally from Houston. She is the recipient of the 2014 Austin Critics' Table W.H. Deacon Crain Award, the nominee for the 2014 & 2015 Austin Critics' Table, Broadway World Austin and Central Texas Excellence in Theatre Awards for 'Best Leading Actress in a Musical' for her performance as Mary Flynn in Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along. Since 2016, she is a proud cofounder of Filament: A Collab Lab, a Seattle based site-specific lab theatre company focused on creating accessible professional theatre productions and workshops.
In response to the stay-at-home mandate of 2020, Brittany partnered with friend and fellow songwriter, GG Rogers, in developing a weekly songwriting challenge called the #SaturdaySongAssignment on Instagram. Each Saturday of Quarantine, participating artists uploaded an original song inspired by two words selected at random by the hosts. Culminating in 52 original songs, follow & explore Brittany's latest creations at @BrittanyAllysonOfficial.
